Team Competitions Please be aware that if you sign up for a pairs or team competition (ladies/gents or mixed) it is important that, if at all possible, you avoid cancelling once the draw has been done. If for some reason either you or your partner are unable to play, it is still necessary for one of you to play in order to mark the card of the pair you are playing with. It becomes very difficult to find replacements at short notice and as a result a pair can be left without a marker, or a team short of a player if you cancel at short notice. Mactier Cup Louise Manning finished ninth in the Silver Division and Trudie Hanson fourth in the Bronze Division when the Staffordshire Golf Mactier Cup was hosted at Branston last Monday. Congratulations to both. Tee-time Discipline Please remember that you are required to be on the tee ten minutes before your tee time. If you are not immediately available to play at your allocated time a two-shot or two-point reduction may be applied to your competition result. Bank Holiday Whackers Just another reminder that Whackers will be running on Bank Holiday Monday (August 29th) and there will be a Spot Prize for this day only. There is no fun comp as the Ladies' Committee has decided not to run one this year. Ladies Inter-Club 25-36 County Shield success Congratulations to the team of Margaret Wright, Sara Allen, Trudie Hanson, Jane Docksey and Andy Thompson who won their semi-finals match 4 - 1, with some fantastic scores, (Trudie winning 10&8, Sara winning 9&7, Andy winning 6&4 and Margaret winning 5&4), against Druids Heath played at Trentham on Friday, August 19, and are now through to the final to be played at Ingestre Park on Thursday, Sept 29. Good luck, ladies. Non-return of Scorecards Please note that it is a CONGU requirement that scorecards are submitted and entered into the computer immediately after the end of a round and a Club sanctions, currently a three competition ban, will be imposed should your card not be returned.
